The volume Experiences and Prospects of Brazil and Ukraine: International Standards and the Transformation of National Legal Systems, edited by Fernando de Brito Alves and Serhii Viktorovych Slinko, brings together contributions from Brazilian and Ukrainian scholars dedicated to examining contemporary transformations of legal systems under the influence of international norms.
Developed within the Graduate Program in Legal Science at the State University of Northern Paraná (UENP), in connection with the Jean Monnet Module – EU-Crimjcoop, the book is the result of an international academic cooperation initiative aimed at strengthening comparative legal studies.
The publication is structured into three parts — theoretical and methodological foundations, thematic studies, and comparative analyses — covering topics such as human rights, criminal policy, constitutional law, public administration, and international cooperation. The chapters explore, from different perspectives, the relationship between international standards and their incorporation into national legal systems.
Particular attention is given to contexts of institutional transformation and the impacts of contemporary conflicts, especially the Ukrainian experience. At the same time, the Brazilian perspective contributes to the analysis of how international legal standards are received and adapted within a distinct legal and institutional framework.
With contributions in Portuguese, English, and Ukrainian, the book reinforces its international scope and contributes to expanding academic dialogue across different legal traditions, establishing itself as a relevant space for reflection on current challenges in the field of Law in a global context.
A obra Experiências e Perspectivas do Brasil e da Ucrânia: Normas Internacionais e a Transformação dos Sistemas Jurídicos Nacionais, organizada por Fernando de Brito Alves e Serhii Viktorovych Slinko, reúne contribuições de pesquisadores brasileiros e ucranianos dedicadas à análise das transformações contemporâneas dos sistemas jurídicos a partir da influência de normas internacionais.
Desenvolvido no âmbito do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Ciência Jurídica da Universidade Estadual do Norte do Paraná (UENP), em articulação com o Módulo Jean Monnet – EU-Crimjcoop, o livro resulta de uma cooperação acadêmica internacional voltada ao fortalecimento dos estudos jurídicos comparados.
A publicação está estruturada em três partes — fundamentos teóricos e metodológicos, estudos temáticos e análises comparativas — contemplando temas como direitos humanos, política criminal, Direito Constitucional, Administração Pública e cooperação internacional. Os capítulos examinam, sob diferentes perspectivas, a relação entre normas internacionais e sua incorporação nos ordenamentos jurídicos nacionais.
A obra dedica especial atenção aos contextos de transformação institucional e aos impactos de conflitos contemporâneos, com destaque para a experiência ucraniana, ao mesmo tempo em que incorpora a perspectiva brasileira na análise da recepção e adaptação de padrões jurídicos internacionais.
Com textos em português, inglês e ucraniano, a publicação reforça seu caráter internacional e contribui para a ampliação do diálogo acadêmico entre diferentes tradições jurídicas, consolidando-se como um espaço de reflexão sobre os desafios atuais do Direito em um cenário global.
